The Sayre High School Speech and Debate Team's mission is to empower student's voices and encourage their ideas through practices and competitions centered around debates and speeches. We strive to prepare our students for the future by helping to build confidence, passion, and the skills to communicate effectively.
By joining the forensics team, you will learn to tell stories, think on your feet, relay information, and even create a solid argument.

Why Llamas? Around 2010, members of the Speech and Debate team started calling themselves the Drama Llamas. After a trip to the District Tournament one year, the team even saw REAL llamas at a petting zoo in a mall. Thus, llamas were solidified as the unofficial Sayre High School Speech and Debate mascot!
