Thunder Vest

The excitement is palpable as we celebrate the achievements of our talented young inventors who have triumphed in the recent "Invention Convention."

After a successful holiday season, Merideth Lezak, Gifted Support Teacher, announced that all three entries from H. Austin Snyder Elementary School have advanced to the state level of competition. This remarkable accomplishment is particularly impressive, given that there were 500 entries overall!

Middle School Division:

  • Ada Mosier's Bully Button has captured the judges' attention with its innovative approach to addressing bullying.

Elementary Division:

  • Alyssa Mosier's Thunder Vest invention stands out as a creative solution for those who struggle with thunderstorm anxiety.

  • A talented team comprising Norah Hadlock, Emmarie Voelker, and Aedan Vermilyea has also made waves with their unique invention, the Nutnose, which promises to offer a clever solution to people allergic to nuts.

All three entries will showcase their inventions at the PA Invention Convention in Hershey, PA, in February.  During the convention, the students will present their inventions to a panel of judges, with the thrilling possibility of advancing to the National level.

As the community rallies behind these young inventors, we look forward to seeing their creativity and hard work shine on such a significant stage.

Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting journey!
