Sayre Student Council rings in a merry start to the holiday season!
Winter Sports Media Day is this Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 3:30 in the high school gym. All athletes must report to the gym in uniform by 3:25.
Sayre HS students participated in STEM Day on 11/21
Students from Sayre had the opportunity to experience a range of scientific topics and activities, including making liquid nitrogen ice cream, physics experiments, an animal eyeball dissection and movies in the planetarium. The students had a great time touring a college campus, learning from hands-on experiments and engaging professors.
Save the date for our upcoming 7-12 Band & Chorus Concert!
The Kinders in Mrs. Romberger's and Mrs. Jarvis's classes prepared a Thanksgiving feast fit for a king! They made everything from appetizers to the dessert completely by themselves then shared a meal family style. A BIG thanks to our cafeteria staff for helping with the turkey.
Mrs. Conden's first grade class of surgeons successfully performed contraction operations during their phonics lesson!

Mrs. Heft's classes decorated turkeys to celebrate Thanksgiving, but added a fun little twist! 🦃🎉
Students in business classes were asked to decorate the turkey to show their favorite brands. Then, students in First Year Experience (FYEX) wanted to represent the college they would like to attend after HS!
They are all so creative! ⭐️
FBLA hosted a Penny Wars Competition last week to raise money for Snyder PTG's Candy Cane Lane! They received an overwhelming amount of change and cannot thank everyone enough for all of the donations!
Room 158 won the competition by a landslide with 5,120 points because they brought in over $50 worth of pennies on the very last day!
The overall total raised from SHS was $659.77 and 100% of all the change collected will be donated to the kids at Snyder so they can purchase gifts for family and friends at Candy Cane Lane in December!
Great Job SHS! ❤️💙
What better way to spend Thanksgiving week then preparing for a soup/chili cook off?! Students in Mrs. Grunza, Ms. McCutcheon and Mrs. Eick's classes worked together to make soups and chili for faculty and staff at the high school. Staff voted for their favorites by taste testing each. The winning soups were a zuppa toscana soup, lasagna soup and a sausage tortellini soup! Yum! The students worked to find recipes and completed the recipe from start to finish. The students also practiced grocery shopping and working together in a cafe setting. Great things are happening at SHS!

Sayre art students braved the frigid temperatures to adorn windows downtown with hand-painted holiday imagery for the upcoming parade. We are grateful to be part of such a wonderful and supportive community!
