Jr Hi wrestler Caleb Grover took 3rd at Southern Tier Memorial on Sunday.


2023-2024 Kindergarten Information.


Jr-Hi Wrestling was in NEB on Saturday and did well. Corey Hurd went 3-0 on the day, Bryan Roof went 5-1 and Caleb Grover went 3-5 on the day.

Boys wrestling was at the Southern Tier Memorial Tournament on Friday and Saturday, Jordan Brown went 3-2 for the weekend while Jake Vaupotic went 1-2, getting his first varsity win, and Aiden Black was 0-2 on the weekend.

Girls Wrestling went to the Southern Tier Memorial Tourney on Saturday and all 3 girls who wrestled made it to the podium! Layla Bennett finished first winning all her matches during the tourney. Mikyah Brown took 4th in her weight class while Kennadie Cochrane took 5th. Great job ladies!




The Varsity Girls lost a tight game to CV last night 29-27. Liz Shaw scored 12 to lead the Redskins while Abbie McGaughey added 9 and Peyton Black chipped in with 6 points. Next up for the girls is a game Monday at home against Wellsboro, Varsity at 6pm with JV to follow.

Starting Monday, January 15th the weight room will be open to any interested High School student/student athlete from 6am-7:15 am and 4:30-6pm Monday through Thursday. It is also open Mon-Thurs from 3:30-4:30 daily for in season athletes.

January Dress Sale!


Last night boys varsity and jv both won in Canton. Varsity won 55-25 led by Nic Pellicano’s 16 points. Zac Senese had 12 while Hudson Trump had 10 for the victorious Redskins. Karter and Tanner Green, Mikey Griffin, Ryan Ressler, Dalton Forrest, and Rommel Suba also chipped in with points in Sayre’s balanced attack. JV won 36-12 and was led by Ryan Ressler’s 8 points, with Mikey Griffin and Rommel Suba each scoring 7 and Declan Barry scoring 6. Carter Bleiler added 5 and Shane Strickland had 3 to round out the JV scoring.

Last night in girls basketball action Sayre Varsity lost at Canton. Abbie McGaughey led the way with 9 points, while Meghan Flynn scored 6 and Lizzy Shaw had 5. JV won their game against Canton 13-11 with Riley Lantz and Morgan Hickey each scoring 4 points in the win. On Monday night the Jr-Hi Girls beat Northeast 19-15 with McKenna Parrish scoring 8, Reghan McGaughey adding 6, Olivia Homer scoring 3 and Eliana Reyes chipping in with 2 points for the victorious Redskins.

Sayre Area SD will dismiss early on January 9, 2024, due to the impending weather.

Congratulations to our Speech and Debate team who competed in two different asynchronous speech tournaments over the break! The Sparkle Season Spectacular was hosted by Upper St. Clair High School in Pittsburgh, PA and the Winter Chill Tournament was hosted by Delta High School in Pasco, WA. Our students competed against a total of 47 other schools all across the country! Congratulations to our entire Speech and Debate team, you make us proud! ❤️💙
