What's Happening this week?
Student Council hosting an Animal Care Pet Drive. 🐾🐾
Our Life Skills 7-9 grade students working on their final project for their "Households Tools Unit" for community living. They are bird feeders, and they will be decorating them next week.
Our incredible SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) team took a giant leap towards fostering a safer and more respectful community. They attended an enlightening conference that was a powerhouse of learning and inspiration! Our students dived deep into workshops designed to equip them with tools to advocate for smarter choices concerning bullying, tobacco and vape use, and the ever-critical issue of distracted driving.
In an engaging activity, our students had the opportunity to reflect on and choose a core value they felt most passionate about bringing back to our community. Our students chose Integrity, Personal Courage, Respect, Selfless Service, and Loyalty. They've committed to championing these values in our district to forge a community where everyone feels valued and safe.
The conference concluded with a profoundly moving talk from the Iwaniec Family. Their story, filled with strength and resilience, left a lasting impact on our students, further fueling their drive to make positive changes in our community.
We couldn't be prouder of our SADD group's dedication and the steps they're taking toward making our district the best place it can be.
We would like to thank Towanda's SADD group for organizing and hosting this wonderful event!

Kindergarten was visited by our friends at the Animal Care Sanctuary. We learned all about careers you can do working with animals and got to meet a sweet friend named Cherry who is up for adoption.
Congratulations to Sayre's Jordan Brown on his 3rd place finish at ACWA War at the Shore 24 in Wildwood NJ.
Members of the Future Teacher’s club were invited to attend Mansfield University to further explore a career in teaching. It was an awesome day with beautiful weather to walk the campus! We ran into many Sayre alumni who are currently Mansfield students now. A huge shout out to Dr. Griggs our former Sayre Superintendent for making this day possible for us and treating us to lunch. The group was amazed at all that Mansfield has to offer!

SHS hosted Mr. David McCreary from Relevant Speakers Network for two school assemblies today. Mr. McCreary spoke to the students about always pursuing further learning in subjects they love and the value of keeping joy in their lives with smiles & laughter. David also spoke to the students about being a friend, supporting and building up the people around them and about bullying. There was a lot of fun magic and some surprises as well! David also spent time speaking with students before and after the assemblies, as well as performing magic in A, B & C lunches in the cafeteria. Thank you Mr. McCreary!
