The new Connections Cafe ☕ has had a great first month of business! Students in Mrs. Grunza's class lead the sales, customer service, and food/drink orders. The cafe is open to SHS students for 6 periods a day. Yesterday they teamed up with Mrs. Wayman's class to make baked goods for the Snyder coffee cart. They have also enjoyed their Friday mornings with Mrs. Wheeler's class! All of the student employees at the cafe make us Redskin proud! ❤️

On Saturday, Febuary 24 David Huang, a Sayre Senior and a member of the Athens G.R.I.P. Powerlifting Team, competed in the 2024 Pennsylvania State Teenage Powerlifting Championship at Parkland High School in Allentown , PA. David was one of 300 lifters that competed in the event. David placed 3rd overall in his weight class of 205 and took top marks for his benchpress of of 335. These scores have qualified David to complete in the National event in New Oreleans this April. Congratulations, David! You make us Sayre proud!

Yesterday, Miss Noldy’s class enjoyed the warm weather, by writing proper nouns on the sidewalk! We now know common nouns vs proper nouns with all our hard work and practice!

A school community shout out to Nikki Stratton one of our valued staff. Nikki is an evening custodian for our district. She is also a daily crossing guard for our kids as well as filling in frequently when the cafeteria is short staffed. As if that isn’t busy enough she volunteers any free time she has in the classroom and with school events like Candy Cane Lane and the Book Fair. Nikki you are a huge asset to our school and our kids. We are blessed to have you working here. Thank you for all you do and for all the ways you go above and beyond!
