13 students in Mrs. Wagaman’s Model UN elective class participated in a Model UN conference held at Commonwealth University-Mansfield today. They joined over 125 students from 9 other high schools across the region. 9 of our Sayre students participated in the larger General Assembly, discussing the issues of plastic pollution in oceans and the use of unmanned armed drones and killer robots. 4 students also participated in the smaller Security Council on drones and an “emerging crisis” in the South China Sea. All of our students did a great job and learned a lot about diplomacy and negotiations.
Special congratulations are in order to senior Brooke Romig and junior Kelsey Denico for being awarded runner-up best delegation in the Security Council, representing France!
Miss Wentzel and the music department are proud to share some pictures of the students whom participated in the County Choir concert that was held at the Sullivan County School District.
Pictured in all black are (left to right) Abigail Lutz, Logan Gumaer, Ashlyn Johnson, and Regan Chapman. In choir robes are (left to right) back row Sophia Hyatt, Kendra Hyatt, Isabella Russo, Logan Richman; front row Logan Howard, EmmaRae Smith, and Gwendolyn Firestine.
